Week 1.

LilGrayCat(Before)

LilGreyCat(After)
Revealing the Little grey cat

This picture was shot with a Sony Mavica FD91 using the built in flash, the time was at dusk and there was supplemental light from cool white flourescent tubes.

The first process was to use Automatic Colour balance and bias the temperature toward the warmer side, 6420K was found to be about what my eye saw the shot as, at the time of shooting.

Automatic Contrast adjustment came next and I found that a Bias toward Darker, Strength of Mild and Appearance of flat was the closest match for the subject and my eye.

There were specks in the image so I went to noise and chose the Salt & Pepper filter with Speck size of 3 and Sensitivity to specks of 4 (I think this is default)

Clarify came next and I found that a setting of 2 was enough to assist the picture.

I applied the Saturation enhancement next and found that the Bias of Less colourful and the strength of Weak felt right.

Finally I tested sharpening and chose to use the Unsharp Mask. The values I chose were: Radius 0.5, Strength 120 and Clipping of 50. I finally decided that the picture did not need any additional work and undid the unsharp mask.
